The City of Danville Council approved a resolution on February 21, 2006 to designate the Broad/ Cleveland Street area as the first "Building Blocks" target area.  The area is designated to implement a comprehensive revitalization strategy.  This great location is convenient to Danville Regional Medical Center, downtown shopping, public schools, Averett University, medical offices, Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History, public transportation and much more.  The goal of the "Building Blocks" program is to:

            A.  Increase neighborhood homeownership from 30% to 60%

            D.  Create a mixed-income community with a majority of owner occupied houses

            E.  Involve the community residents, churches, businesses, and institutions
