Founded in 1793, the city of Danville is rich in history and architecture.  From the economic boom of the 1880's, the mansions of Millionaires' Row were built from the wealth of textiles and tobacco creating the finest collection of Victorian and Edwardian homes in the Commonwealth.  Danville has six National Register Historic Districts, which afford historic tax credits to the savvy purchaser.  Specializing in historic properties, Susan offers unparalleled expertise in the restoration of residential and commercial architecture.  In the next few months, this page will introduce you to Susan, an associate broker, with tours of our listings along Main Street, in the streetcar suburb of the West End, the first automobile suburb of Forest Hills, and the Tobacco Warehouse District.  Learn about a 'sense of place' in the new urbanism of old neighborhoods.

A native of Danville, Susan graduated from UNC and was employed as a microbiologist at the University of North Carolina, Duke University Medical Center,  and on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico.  She entered the real estate profession in 1978 in Durango, Colorado where  she worked as a broker in residential sales, marketing ski area development, and adaptive reuse of historic commercial properties.  She also was co-owner of Father Murphy's Irish Pub in Durango..

Dedicated to preservation, she created Heritage Realty, served as president of the historical society and founding trustee of the Langhorne House.  As past chairman of the Planning Commission, she has helped to formulate the city's 2020 comprehensive plan.  Her hobbies include hydroponic horticulture, skiing, and motorcycle touring with her husband, Lee Stilwell.
